November on The Wrestling Caucus
We kicked off November on The Wrestling Caucus talking WWE Champion Big E doing an interview on one of the biggest national radio shows, The Breakfast Club. Big E waved the flag for his company through tough questions from Charlemagne Tha God and came across very likable. Smiley and myself wonder if this Big E Breakfast Club appearance will make more WWE fans down the line. We also discuss two amazing main events from the two Japanese wrestling promotions that wrestling fans should pay more attention to. The first being Pro Wrestling NOAH and the recent GHC Title match between Katsuhiko Nakajima and Naomichi Marufuji and the Triple Crown title match from All Japan Pro Wrestling's Jake Lee and Kento Miyahara. Both matches are prime examples of elite level wrestling psychology.
We also previewed this year's AEW Full Gear and discussed whether or not its time to pull the trigger on "Hangman" Adam Page, the unique booking of CM Punk and Eddie Kingston where traditional babyface/heel dynamics are not at play here. We also talked the growth of Britt Baker and how the best "developmental" for some wrestlers is consistent exposure on national TV.
To close out November on The Wrestling Caucus, we recapped what was probably the best Full Gear AEW has put on and one of the best PPVs all year. Plus, the Cowboy did it! After three years, "Hangman" Adam Page finally became AEW World Champion after spending most of his AEW career spiraling, losing friends, and developing an alcohol dependency. I was at the Target Center in Minneapolis and Smiley was watching on PPV at home. One thing i noticed from being there live is that everyone loves CM Punk as every other person was wearing some sort of apparel related to our straight edge friend.
